What Customers Say

“The food was delicious. We had stewed aubergine and lamb fillet with Persian rice, a bottle of beer and a pot of mint tea. It all came to about £40. The service was friendly and the food was served very quickly. The portions were small however. This is why I give the restaurant 4 stars. It’s a small venue with a nice family atmosphere. I would recommend it.”

“I don’t normally leave reviews unless the food is phenomenal. This place deserves a shout out. We ordered the lamb shank and chicken barberry which were also the specials for the day. Both meats were cooked to perfection, juicy and melted right off the bone! Their baklava is fresh, buttery and authentic just like in the Middle East. The Persian tea on their menu is also a great try served in Persianware and the owner mentioned it’s their own blend. Lovely quaint ambiance, perfect for a relaxed enjoyable meal. 10/10. Would recommend this to everyone in a heartbeat!”

“Very cosy, totally authentic Iranian restaurant. They had Zereshke Pollo special which was amazing. The maast mousir was the best I can remember. A fair price and good portions. Lovely experience with Iranian family and English friends.”

What Customers Say

“Wow! It was worth the trip to eat this food. Best lamb chops I’ve ever eaten. They are marinated overnight and perfectly grilled on a charcoal stove. The restaurant is owed and operated by a husband and wife chef team who opened the restaurant 20 years ago. They recently remodeled and have a decent wine list – I had the Musar Hochar for £65 – so this is a place you could go on a date, with coworkers or in my case, I went by myself and it was totally worth it. I started with a roasted eggplant with yogurt dish which I highly recommend. The grilled onion salad was also worth trying. The onions have been marinated before they are grilled which magically takes away all of the harshness that you would expect. All of the sauces and marinades are made in house. The lamb is halal and comes from a local English farm.”

“I just love authentic family run restaurants where they care about the food, the ambience and the service, and Cirrick was a big tick in every box. Fried veg and courgette patties to start were delicious. Lamb ribs and kebabs with fresh tasty salad and sweet baked onion in pomegranite and sumax dressing, with flat bread were so full of flavour. Arm twisted gently to try baklava for dessert which crowned the meal. Lovely people and great food. Who needs more?”

“We came here for a group dinner a few weeks ago and I would highly recommend. The food was great – fresh and good portions. The cocktail menu is impressive and they’re great value for money – the margaritas are delicious! Service was kind and friendly, but it was a little slow and it took a while to get our food. However it was a Saturday night and they were very accommodating and apologetic about it. Would definitely go again – perfect for date night or group dinners.”

What Customers Say

“We came relatively early evening on a Sunday so probably didn’t see this place at its most atmospheric but still very nice for shisha. The guy who served was pleasant and attentive. Watermelon shisha was nice, arranged promptly and the mint tea was good too. The place is a little out of the way but if you’re in the area then I recommend it.”

“Polite staff, very quick process from ordering to receiving it without sacrificing quality, shisha was superb and reasonably priced with many flavours to choose from. The outside seating area is perfect for a shisha as it comes with heating, so it’s the perfect spot if it’s a cold night and you still feel like enjoying shisha a with your friends.”

4. Bengal Village

  • Address: 75 Brick Ln, London E1 6QL, United Kingdom
  • Contact: +44 20 7366 4868

Recommended Dishes: Curry, Tandoori Chicken, Vindaloo, Balti Lamb, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tawa Lamb

What Customers Say

“We had just an hour to sit and eat so we chose this Indian restaurant and we were not disappointed! The service was welcoming and quick all while being attentive to our every need! We were able to have a conversation with some of the staff while we were waiting and when we were given our food we were met with an explosion of flavour! We chose to sit outside in the sun and as we ate our lovely dishes we were transported to India! Would recommend this for anyone who loves spicy foods!”

“We treated ourselves to a selection of curries, accompanying rice and, of course, the staple Naan bread. The bread was soft, making it the perfect vessel to scoop up generous portions of the curry sauce. The smoky lamb curry and saag paneer stood out with their robust flavours, albeit being on the milder side. However, the Chicken tikka, butter chicken, and vegetable korma proved too sweet for my palate, and I found myself missing the heat typically associated with Indian food. While I believe this sweetness could be a reflection of local preferences, it’s worth noting that the quality of the food, especially the meat, was commendable. Overall, Bengal Village offers a unique interpretation of Indian cuisine that’s sure to please those who prefer a sweeter, milder take on these traditionally fiery dishes. However, if like me, you have a penchant for the heat, this might not be your cup of tea.”

“Great place for some good Indian food in London. The chicken tikka masala is different from the North American version in that it’s sweeter and less creamy, but still delicious. The balti lamb was great too. The only disappointment was that they don’t have any coffee, tea, or dessert for after the meal. This is the first time I’ve been to an Indian restaurant that didn’t have any chai.”

What Customers Say

“Great atmosphere. Customer service was top notch. Every detail taken care off. The food itself was freshly made and tasted sublime. The best Asian restaurant in Tooting especially for non Asians who like to control the spice level of their food.”

“This place ticks every box, went with an asian friend who is a regular. Service exemplary, food is hands done best Indian food I have ever had. Can see they have spent a lot on the interior design, I don’t know why it’s not been awarded. Coated paneer is a must. Prices are very reasonable. Rarely take food home but had to as I was full and far too good to waste”

“Very good experience here. Didn’t book in advance but they were happy to accommodate us. There was a party in the back while we were there but it was kept separate from other dining guests which I appreciate as it can sometimes get rowdy. Our food was served within 20 minutes and the servers kept us updated. They were attentive and accommodating with any requests we had, such as all food served together and not staggered as it usually is with courses. I have to commend Aksa, the manager; she had everything under control and directed everything with ease. It was a great experience, decor was beautiful and ambiance was wonderful. I have already visited their other branch in Southall but I would definitely visit here again.”

What Customers Say

“Great food, great prices and great staff ! We went as a party of four. The guys behind counter were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The food was out on our table quick and tasted great. Nice flavours, crispy fries and all freshly cooked and hot. The sauces are awesome. One of the best GDK I have been to ! Just one point which could improve is toilet hygiene/cleanliness. Well done to the kitchen and counter staff ! Keep up the good work ! Be back soon ! “

“I recently had the pleasure of visiting GDK and I must say, the service I received from Arrifa was absolutely outstanding. Her attention to detail, friendly demeanor, and willingness to go the extra mile truly made my experience memorable. She made sure that my needs were met and her professionalism shined through. Not only was the service top-notch, but the food was also exceptional. The flavors were rich and delightful, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite. From start to finish, my dining experience at GDK was a true delight. I can’t thank Arrifa enough for making my visit so enjoyable. Her exceptional service combined with the delicious food has definitely made me a loyal customer. I highly recommend GDK to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.”

“Delicious place to eat at. The portions are really big (for example the sandwiches), for such an affordable price, around £5.99 for a monster sandwich. The meat is cooked really well, and it’s very flavourful. One reservation is that the meat is lesser on the juicy side, so that’s potentially one improvement. But overall, the food here is delicious”

  • Menu
Recommended Dishes: Char Kway Teow, Roti Canai, Satay Chicken Satay, Beef Rendang, Nasi Goreng Istimewa, Nasi Lemak

What Customers Say

“Been to Rasa Sayang a couple of times and food is consistently decent. The beef noodles are really nice and the roti canai with chicken is delicious but the chicken is on a bone which, in a curry in a small bowl, makes it rather difficult to eat. The Char Kway Teow is also nice and the Chargrilled Tiger Prawns were quite dry and not very flavourful. Prices decent and service efficient.”

“Buzzing place, you know the food is good when the regional people are eating there, spoke to some lovely malaysian people. My utmost respect to the cooks and service staff as they went above and beyond. Would have liked more help when ordering the food, like a mix of dishes not much in the way of balance when our food came. Our own fault but perhaps preventative.”

“Spacious space and kind staffs! Foods were tasty, but was a bit mild then needed a little more seasoning. So we asked chilly oil(there were shrimps in it, so tasty), foods were became perfect flavours. Saw lots Malaysian and Singaporean customers, lots family group visit.”

8. Yalla Yalla

  • Opening Hours: Opens 12 PM
  • Address: 1 Green’s Ct, London W1F 0HA, United Kingdom
  • Contact: +44 20 7287 7663
  • Menu
Recommended Dishes: Feta Cheese Sambousek, Falafel, Chicken Shawarma Platter, Hommos, Baba Ganoush, Chicken Wings, Fattoush Salad

What Customers Say

“Lovely food, not outstanding. The portion was reasonable, not oversized as you might expect (I’m not opposed to a big meal, but thought it’s worth mentioning). Staff were kind and attentive, the manager was a little excitable, but knew the regulars and clearly cared. The restaurant was generally clean, but dark colours and patterns may have hidden a few issues, I only say this because the menus were stained and sticky and the cushions were about worn out, maybe it just needs a bit of a refresh. We were related in a quiet area away from most other patrons and it wasn’t busy. No was the music too loud, it was actually quite pleasant. But a little chatter and the music just seemed to build quite quickly and it was a little difficult to have a relaxed conversation. Despite the soft furnishings I assume it’s the low hard ceilings reflecting the sound.”

“We regularly visit middle eastern restaurants, and we must admit that this spot did satisfy our cravings. The food was spectacular, being expertly cooked, spiced, and prepared. Moreover, the lemonades were extremely refreshing, and tasted beyond fresh. Our only complaint was the service; although kind and helpful, the waiter seemed to easily misunderstand what we meant to convey, and was quick to block us when asking for changes in our order. Overall, we would definitely return and recommend this to others, especially since we paid around £40 for two people and drinks.”

“Came here on a Friday night for dinner. I had made a reservation beforehand but it was quite empty when I got there. The location is a little hidden even though it’s literally just off Oxford Street but people don’t usually go down the small alley to find this amazing place. We ordered the mixed mezze platter for two and we checked with the waitress whether that was enough food or not. She said that we might need more but it turned out we didn’t because the platter was so huge that we couldn’t finish it! The platter came with hummus, falafel, chicken samboussek, tabbouleh salad, vine leaves and Baba ganoush. Everything was absolutely delicious, I particularly enjoyed the hummus and chicken samboussek, super rich taste. It also came with pita bread which was perfect for the dips. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. They had a mini problem with the card machine not working properly so customers including us had to wait a bit to pay but it was a small issue so it didn’t affect our overall experience at the restaurant. The interior design is very Middle Eastern and I liked how it made it more authentic and cosy. Would be happy to come back again soon!”

What Customers Say

“I visited this restaurant and was highly impressed with the food and service. The actual setting and atmosphere was amazing and their menu had many options. I like Turkish food and have had a lot of it, more on the low quality side and I’ve always been apprehensive about finer end Turkish food but it was lovely. The lamb shish is highly flavourful and the portions are filling. The service is excellent and I can only recommend this place. The hummus is to die for.”

“Delicious Turkish food! We tried the borek, the hummus with lamb pieces, the lentil soup, the chicken salad, the avocado salad, the spaghetti, the chicken spring rolls, the Turkish tea, and the katmer, and they were all delicious. The food was flavorful and authentic, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I would definitely recommend Antalya Restaurant to anyone looking for delicious Turkish food in London.”

“It’s a brilliant Turkish restaurant with really good customer service and good food. The atmosphere was welcoming and the service was quick. Food came out quite quickly so the wait was little. We went for a work based Christmas lunch with the regular menu, and that was fine. There were about 16 of us. Would definitely recommend.”

“I cannot score or recommend this restaurant highly enough! We arrived after leaving a nearby restaurant in a rather disgruntled state following a poor experience. From the moment we stepped in (without reservation) we were treated to fabulous hospitality. Staff were attentive, caring, patient and charming. The food and drinks were unlike any Indian restaurant we have ever experienced! Everything was cooked to perfection, using fresh herbs and spices, making every dish taste authentic and exceptional. As a person who does really like dessert, both of us found the desserts amazing – the ginger Ice Cream was sublime! We took our time and at no time felt rushed. Just about every member of the management team came by to check on us at some point, which made us feel super special. Loved the experience and will definitely be back soon. Thank you.”

“The restaurant is very well decorated with good atmosphere. We had biriani rice and buttered chicken. The chicken was excellent. The biriani was not so good. Dry and uneven spiced. The service was the best we had for a long time. Very attentive and friendly. The prices were was also higher than excepted.”

“This is Michelin dining Indian style. The portions are artfully presented without sacrificing portion size, as is often the case with many upscale restaurants of this quality. Even the drinks and cocktails ate next-level. The meal began with a passion fruit martini which was so good, I ordered another. My wife and I shared two orders of samosas and the Madras Chicken 65, which can best be described as boneless buffalo wings with a much better and bolder flavor and better dipping sauce. For my entree, I had the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was incredible! This is my favorite place to eat Indian in the entire city! Come here now and thank me later.”

“Comes with a halal menu. Steak, chips, and tuna tataki were marvellous. Steak was cooked to perfection, chips were crispy outside with an extremely soft and fluffy inside, tuna were delicious. The Coca-Cola comes with a lemon, and if that isn’t details I don’t know what is. One of our orders were mistakenly rare, but they offered to fix it with a new steak. 10/10 would recommend.”

“I would recommend. Price was typical for restaurant like this maybe little more expensive but it’s because of the place. Staff were friendly and smiled. Place itself was quier and enjoyable. Food was amazing. Fries were one of the best ones i have ever tasted. I ordered my steak medium rare and got it exactly medium rare. Steak wasn’t anything suprising it was exactly what you can expect. Overall 5/5 experience i would recommend. Price was equal to quality and experience.”

“Very good hospitality, I came here for my birthday with my wife, they welcomed us with some non alcoholic Prosecco on the house. For starters we shared the garlic chilli prawns, we were recommended to get the assorted bread to go with this – great suggestion by the waiter as this tasted fantastic. For mains we both got the sirloin – cooked perfectly. For sides we had the Chucky chips and Mac & Cheese. Both tasted really good and very well seasoned. Overall a very warm environment with fantastic service and food.”

“Interesting place. Had the traditional tea, noodles, soups, lamb skewers, mung bean, the medium chicken dish etc. The waiter seemed alarmed when I smiled at him. He forgot about three items we ordered but gave us free rice pudding without asking. The other diners seemed like regulars, I certainly want to come again. Cosy, flavoured, not too spicy food, with a decent portion size for this day and age. An excellent meal.”

“Just entered here for a small bite. It is a very simple place, perfect for a quick visit. Staff is friendly, the place in clean (including the toilet). You can also sit in front the the place outside. I ordered a very simple noodle with chicken and some vegetables dish. It was great! The spices on the chicken were amazing, the noodles tasty as they should be. Prices are very friendly for such a nice location in the center of London.”

“I booked last minute and was able to get a reservation. all the food is halal certified which is sometimes hard to find in London. Upon entering, the waiter was really friendly and welcoming. He recognised I was fasting due to Ramadan and gave me the biggest and sweetest dates I’ve ever eaten in my whole life. I ordered the leghmen and my friend got the Uyghur kewap which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The waiter was also easy to flag down even though he was the only one in the front which made me feel prioritised. would defo recommend and can’t wait to go again!!”

No cut backs on the portion sizes, I’m always leaving with a to-go bag! The chefs are super friendly and the waiters/waitresses are always attentive (despite being continuously busy)! The restaurant is not the biggest and because it’s so busy, it can get a little overcrowded if you have to wait to be seated. But it’s worth EVERY second.
